Congratulations to Jim Bolger and New Approach

We would once again like to congratulate our very good customer J.S. Bolger, a regular user of Equine Fitness heart monitors, for his outstanding success in this years Vodaphone Derby.

EPSOM won a new convert on Saturday as Jim Bolger completed a metamorphosis not even he entertained two weeks ago when New Approach, the focus of a controversial ‘will he or won't he run' saga, captured the race he was never trained for by clinching the Vodafone Derby.

Ridden to victory by Kevin Manning, Bolger's son-in-law, New Approach realised Sheikh Mohammed's dream to win the Derby by triumphing in the colours of his wife Princess Haya of Jordan, for whom he had been bought as a gift.

“He is a very, very classy horse. This is every jockey's dream from when you are a kid.”

Bolger confirmed the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby remained on the agenda for New Approach and that races like the Juddmonte International, Irish Champion Stakes, King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes and Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe were possible targets.
